Early Musical Background

John inherited his father's interest for music at an early age. At the age of seven John began piano lessons, thereby gaining an insight into musical theory and developing his sense of rhythm. He began drum lessons in 1981 at the age of ten and continued playing throughout his years at school in various projects. He sang in church, school and university choirs.
